Voting in Live Polls

Cast your vote in a creator's live poll, understand free and coin-weighted voting, and see why a vote sometimes does not register.

Audience: Viewers Status: User Guide

During a live stream a creator can run a poll to ask the audience a question. When a poll is open, it appears on the live episode so you can vote and watch the results update in real time. This guide explains how to vote and what to do if your vote does not go through.

Casting a vote

When a poll is open, it shows the question and the options. Choose the option you want and cast your vote. You need to be logged in to vote. The results update live as you and other viewers vote, so you see the tallies move without reloading the page.

Free and coin-weighted polls

Polls come in two kinds, and the creator decides which to use.

Free polls

A free poll gives you one vote. In most free polls your vote is final once you cast it. Some free polls let you change your vote, if the creator turned that on for the poll. If changing your vote is not allowed and you try to vote again, you are told you have already voted.

Coin-weighted polls

A coin-weighted poll lets you spend coins to add weight to your vote. The creator sets how many coins each vote costs. Because votes are weighted, you can cast more than once to add more weight to a choice. You need enough coins in your balance to vote. Coins are a currency you buy, and the ones you spend on a poll go toward supporting the creator. For how coins work, see Pricing Your Content.

Why a vote might not register

If your vote does not go through, the page tells you why. The common reasons are:

  • You are not logged in. Voting requires an account, so log in and try again.
  • You have already voted. In a free poll that does not allow changing your vote, you only get one vote.
  • Not enough coins. In a coin-weighted poll you need enough coins for the cost the creator set. Buy more coins, then vote.
  • The poll is closed. The creator has closed the poll, so voting has ended. The final results stay visible.
